Angling or fishing is one of my past time hobby. Picture above is taken during my fishing trip with my uncle in Langkawi. He is a local fisherman in Langkawi. On this trip, we caught lots of Grade A fish especially grouper.

Hi,
I will be in Langkawi during the school holidays in May with some friends. We plan to go fishing. Can you let me know if we can hire your uncle and his boat. Maybe for 6 hrs for 4 pax.
Hi Jerry, I will ask my uncle about it. Can I know the specific date that you wish to go? At least if he’s agree then he may blocked the date for your group.
Hi,
I’ll be bring my family to Langkawi this Sunday. How are the tackle shops there? We’re staying at Berjaya.
What’s the “best” bait to use from shore?
Hi Marcus, the best bait to use to fish from the shore is the seaworm or local it ‘umpun-umpun’. You may buy this at a tackle shop in Padang Matrisat town. I hope you will enjoy your stay in Langkawi.
Hi guys, I`m in Langkawi now enjoying the time with my wife, it`s my second tyime in this island and fourth time in Malaysia since I`m from Saudi. I will go for fishing this afternoon as I usually do in my country, I will let you know how many fishes we got:)
How are you? Actually i am from Langkawi and i love lot of fishing, would like to join us of fishing trip whenever you are in Langkawi, maybe we could share the experience and an ideas to develop fishing activities on this island.
I truly enjoyed reading your blog. Like you, I am into fishing, and used to do Judo and Aikido a bit. Anyhow, I am planning to visit Langkawi next month. I would be grateful if you can tell me about the shore fishing there. Have you tried fishing from the shore in Langkawi before? How about fishing in the mangrove jungle? I fancy the idea of fishing from a kayak for mangrove jack, etc. Anyhow, it would be my pleasure to exchange some fish tale with you over cold beer sometime.
Thanks Sage. Glad to meet another bro in Martial Art and sharing a same hobby as mine.
Yes, I did some angling even from the shore but I can’t say that all of it were a good trip indeed. To fishing along the mangrove by using kayak is something that i had never try it before but I think thats a great idea even.
As for shore fishing, I heard that there is a new spot in Teluk Datai for shore fishing as yesterday I had just met my in-law from Langkawi who came and visit me here in Melaka and he told me about this spot. But he also mentioned that the spot is a little bit rocky so we need to prepare for the line to be tangled with the rock.
