If you are going to Langkawi by air, surely you won’t miss seeing the wave barrier once the airplane is about to land at Langkawi International Airport.
This waves barrier have 2 entrances guarded by security but they won’t mind anglers to pass through as long as we park our vehicle outside the entrance and walk to the fishing spot. But of course we need to sincerely and politely asked for permission from them first. Once you got the green light, walk to the most furthest part of the barrier and start fishing. As this location is only suitable for night fishing, I can tell you that you need to walk in dark estimately around 20 to 30 minutes before reaching the tip of the barrier. So please bring along torchlight and drinking water.
Sometimes the trip here can be a disappointing trip compared to the energy that we had used just to reached the fishing spot. I would say that you won’t get empty handed but several times I did went back with only small fishes such as small rays, saltwater catfish and coral fishes. 2kg Mangrove Jack is the most biggest fish that we ever caught here. Here we may also sometimes caught the unwanted starfishes and sea eel.
